Easy Gilded Leafing Technique Video for Handmade Cards

Easy-gilded-leafing-techniqueLet's kick off Tuesday with an easy technique video for handmade cards using Gilded Leafing from Stampin' Up!

The Gilded Leafing is a jar of beautiful golden flakes, lighter than a feather, that works magic on your paper crafting creations.  You've seen a demonstration and sample of this gilded leafing on another project but I have to admit that I LOVE this method and the secret to the "easy" is using our Adhesive Sheets.

Here's the video so you can see how the easy gilded leafing technique is done!

For Whom Would You Make This Birthday Card?

Hey-birthday-chick-birthday-card-spring-chickenLooking at today's project feature, I would be willing to bet that you had a close friend in mind that you would love to make and send this card for her birthday!

Wouldn't it bring a smile to her face?  I know that I have several friends and family members who would love to be called a "spring chicken".

This adorable bundle is great for making some really fun cards.  Honestly, as a cardmaker, I rarely lean toward this type of "cutesy" stamp set but this one stole my heart and my guess is that you will love it, too!

Here is the step by step how-to:

  1. Cut the Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] card base at 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” score at 4 1/4”.
  2. Cut the back layer of 2020–2022 In Color 6" X 6"  Designer Series Paper [153070] at 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” glue to the base front.
  3. Cut your second piece of 2020–2022 In Color 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper [153070] at 3 1/4”x 5 1/2” glue to the center of the designer paper on the card front.
  4. Cut another piece of Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] at 3” x 5 1/2”.
  5. Next comes the stamping.  Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708] for the images and the sentiments.
  6. Stamp your happy birthday sentiment at the top and the "spring chicken" sentiment toward the bottom as shown.
  7.  Stamp the chicken between the sentiments and color.
  8. Stamp an extra ballon, die-cut, color, and pop up with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals [144108] over the other balloon.
  9. Color your chicken.
  10. Now glue the Basic White stamped piece to the center of the card.
  11. Stamp the little chick that is hatching, color, and die-cut, and pop up on the corner of the "spring chicken" sentiment.

Here's another birthday card idea with this darling bundle!

Easy DIY Gift Idea with Stampin' Up! Flowering Cactus

It's Tuesday and today we have an easy DIY project with the Stampin' Up! Flowering Cactus Product Medley.

I am always on the lookout for tea towels or dish towels that coordinate well with our stamp sets and designer papers.  The cactus-themed towel used in today's project is from Dollar Tree!  Here's one from last year with an Easter theme.

The color scheme in the Flowering Cactus Product Medley is different from the bright colors on this towel.  As you'll see in the video, it was easy to coordinate other Stampin' Up! Colors to match the towel.  Watch the video to see the process of this easy DIY gift with Stampin' Up! Flowering Cactus!

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Cut coordinating cardstock layer to 2" x 5".
  • Cut designer paper to match at 1-3/4 x 4-3/4.
  • You will need a piece of Basic White approximately 4" x 5" to stamp and cut your image.
  • For the sentiment, a 3/4" strip of Basic White was used and cut to fit.

Make A Hey Chick Birthday Card

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Birthday Card
Our Monday project is this adorable birthday card with the Stampin’ Up! Hey Birthday Chick Bundle. The Snail Mail Designer Series Paper [154577] makes for a festive background and provides a great color scheme.

Notice the repetitive stamping for the sentiment. This is an alternative method to adding the sentiment as an element on it own. The “let’s celebrate you” is stamped tone on tone in Bermuda Bay.  ( The tone on tone technique is stamping with the ink the same color the card stock.

Here’s the how-to...

Here’s hoping you’ve been inspired by this Hey Birthday Chick card idea and will create a fun card to share with a friend.

Make A St. Patrick's Day Treat Box

St-patricks-day-treat-1With St. Patrick's Day coming up, it's a good time for an idea for this fun little treat box.

This is a simple one and a good size for some fun candy treats or even a gift card!  Going through my supplies, I found some stamp sets and dies that would be just right to wish someone "top of the day" on the 17th.

There are many shades of green in this Stampin' Up! color realm but this spruce matched my treats, Andes Mints, so that was the deciding factor.

Here's the how-to video so that you can put one of these together quickly.

Lisa's Inklings:

St-patricks-day-treat-3I think this version with the sentiment from the game on stamp set is just right for my better-half! Those hearts from the kanga dies make a cute shamrock, don't you think?

St. Patrick's Day was always a fun day for me growing up.  I was eager to attend my school that day to see all the wearing of the green.  Making these little treat boxes and decorations each year brings some of those fun memories to mind.

Here's a look back at some of the fun projects for St. Patrick's Day... a Leprechaun Hat Treat Holder and a St. Patrick's Day Banner.

Below are the supplies used for the two St. Patrick's Day treat boxes seen in today's video.  If you are needing any card-making or paper crafting supplies, I would be honored to serve you!

Hope you have been inspired to try this paper crafting project so now that you've seen the video, give it a try! Have some fun on St. Patrick's Day with these treat boxes that you can create yourself and until next time, let your light shine!

Two Handmade Cards with Stampin' Up! Circle -Facebook Live Recording

Today's projects are two handmade cards with Stampin' Up! Circle Celebration.  We made these cards on Craft & Chat Live on Facebook yesterday afternoon.

The circle elements on these stamp sets have a wide variety of patterns but for some reason, I was obsessed with this vine image that you will see on these two cards!  (Be sure that you are on my mailing list so you can see another card made with more of these circle patterns...it's my favorite that I've made so far with this set!)

And, now...on with the show!

Lisa's Inklings for these two handmade cards with Stampin' Up! Circle Celebration-

Card 1:

Paper-quilt-on-a-handmade-card-with-circle-celebrationCard 2:

I like to call this the "quilt" card.

The faux stitching created by the dies on both of these really adds a special touch, don't you think?

Easy-handmade-card-circle-celebrationTip: To prevent the classic ink from bleeding on the elements seen in the photo above, clear emboss the image and sentiment immediately after stamping in the classic ink.

The Forever Greenery DSP is so very pretty.  It will probably be "retiring" soon.  Here's another favorite project of mine featuring this paper.
