Bundle of Love Baby Card

Bundle-of-love-baby-card

Today's project is a baby card that I made with the Bundle of Love card set and specialty designer paper for our new grandbaby, Mia Reese.

My schedule had been totally re-vamped, in a good way, with Mia's arrival and the our recent Stampin' Up! Incentive trip to Thailand!  My sleep pattern is finally back to normal, thank goodness, and I've set up a temporary craft room at our daughter's home so that I can craft AND do my job as "Honey" to help around the house and sneak in all the snuggles that I can!

Let's get back to talking about our card project! This sentiment, from one of the cards in the Memories and More kit, was perfect for card for newborn Mia.  And, notice that yummy texture on that background made with our new embossing paste...it is divine!

Let's take a look at the video tutorial for this Bundle of Love baby card.

You can see this Bundle of Love Baby card here on You Tube.

Here is this Stampin' Up! Supply List for today's card.  If you do not have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would love to serve you!  Thank you for your consideration.

Tuesday Tip- Cardmaking 101: Dressing Up Your Envelopes for Handmade Cards

Tip-envies

This evening (before Tuesday is over!), I have a quick tip for dressing up those envelopes for your handmade cards.  By using designer or patterened paper that coordinates with your cards, you can create matching envelopes for each one you make!

Let's take a look at the quick video tutorial below...

Today's video for dressing up your envelopes for handmade cards can be seen HERE on You Tube.

Lisa's Inklings...other ways to dress up envelopes:

  • Stamp image used on card on front lower corner of the envelope.
  • Use a sponge to add a coordinating color to the edges of your envelope.
  • A coordinating color of washi tape can add a "slice" of color when added about 1/4" up from the bottom edge of envelope.
  • Spritz color by mixing ink refill drops with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer.

Try the tip in today's video and the others listed above to dress up those envelopes for your handmade cards!

As you read this, my husband and I are on the last days of our Stampin' Up! trip to Thailand!  The photo above shows the neat bag that contained our travel and trip information that we received about two weeks before the trip.

This trip of a lifetime would not have been possible for me to achieve without the help of my loyal customers and my amazing team, the Ink and Inspirations Stars.

The above photo is of the resort where we are staying.  Isn't it beautiful?  We were so excited to spend time here and visit and relax with so many Stampin' Up! friends!

One Idea, Three Cards #1

1-3-memories-and-more-color-theory-1Today I'm beginning a feature that you'll see here on the blog called One Idea, Three Cards.  In response to  a questionaire that I sent to my mailing list, many responded that they had difficulty coming up with ideas.  It's my hope that you can see what helps me in creating and you'll try designing different cards using the same idea from a card you've created previously.  Let's take a look at the video tutorial below...

See this One Idea, Three Cards #1 Video on You Tube.

Here's the Stampin' Up! Supply List for the card that is assembled in the video.  Just click the links to access the online store.

1-3 memories-and-more-color-theory-2

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Crushed Curry base is cut at 4 1/4" x 11".
  • Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for background layer and 3/4" x 4" for piece beneath ribbon.
  • Whisper White is cut 3/4" x 4" for sentiment and trimmed after stamping.
  • Trim the Color Theory card to 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".

1-3-birthday-delivery-1Here's another card using the same idea (sketch or card layout).  Can you see the common elements?

1-3-happy-birthday-thinlit-card-1Here's another cardmaking sample with the same idea. The focal point is the thinlit but the general assembly concept is the same.  You can see that even though all three cards have a different look, these all originated from the same idea. Really helps when you're trying to come up with an idea for a card!

Hope you enjoyed see these three handmade cards from one idea!

Make a Card With a Message of Hope

FullSizeRender-74The new Ribbon of Courage stamp set makes beautiful cards with messages of hope.  I believe we all know someone or have someone in our families that would love receiving a card with this message.  The set is so versatile and with the coordinating framelits, you'll be able to create beautiful cards for anyone.

The support ribbon colors can be found by conducting a search on your computer.  This card was made with love for a particular friend in mind. The sentiments in this set are beautiful and can be used to send greetings to any of your loved ones.

Here's a look at the sentiments:

  • With faith all things are possible
  • LIVE every moment, LAUGH everyday, LOVE with all your heart
  • Sending Love and hugs to you
  • Courage

All of the images but one are perfect for coloring or simply stamped in one color as in the sample above.

Let's take a look at the how-to video for this Message of Hope card...

Tuesday Tip- Cardmaking 101: Cutting Card Stock for the Inside of Your Cards

paper-crafting-tipToday's card making tip is one that you are more than likely using already but if you're just getting into the craft or just curious about what I do, let's talk about cutting card stock for the inside of your cards.  Many times, I'll wait until I'm ready to send the card to finish the inside. It's so nice to find that it's all ready to go when needed.

Here's the video with a few ideas on finishing the inside of your handmade cards.

You can see the video on my You Tube channel here.

Lisa's Inklings:

  • Keep a stack of Very Vanilla and Whisper White card stock cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the insides of your cards.
  • Stamp a coordinating image on the Whisper White or Very Vanilla to decorate the inside of your cards.
  • You can get four pieces from one sheet of card stock.
  • Save the cut strips for stamped sentiments.
  • Save wide strips from other projects to use on the inside of your cards.  You can trim these to fit in length.
